At this time of year, the term “Hustle and Bustle” conjures up the image of people with brightly wrapped gifts stacked in their arms happily on their way to spread good cheer.
But sometimes the reality of “hustle and bustle” of this season is a long “To Do” list and lots of pressure to fit in all of the shopping and visiting and activities by the big day. The fun can drain out of the experience as stress seeps in and pressure can rob you of your energy and ultimately the memories and the Joy.
So, what to do?
It seems a lot of stress comes from projecting into the future…”what if” – we can’t get it all done, someone is disappointed, it’s not all “picture perfect”?
But… “what if” we try something different?
I came across this video from Mindvalley Academy about “falling in love with this moment” that I’d like to share. It’s a reminder of the beautiful gift we can give to ourselves and those we love by being “present” in this moment – not waiting until everything is done before we can relax and enjoy. A reminder to pause every once in a while, unload the weight on your shoulders, take a breath and feel the energy and wonder that is all around. By paying attention we won’t miss out on all of the special moments that we may skim over in our rush.
